        Insert "a municipality may by ordinance provide that,"                                     
                                                                                                    
Page 2, lines 14 - 18:                                                                              
         Delete all material.                                                                       
         Insert "incumbent mayor ends on that effective date.  An                                   
ordinance adopted under this subsection must include procedures for                                 
holding a special election for mayor and must establish the term of                                 
office of a mayor elected at the special election."                                                 
                                                                                                    
Representative Croft moved and asked unanimous consent that                                         
Amendment No. 1 be adopted.  There being no objection, it was so
